My water softener was installed by the previous owner over a decade ago, and had started dumping salt and debris into our drinking water. The company that makes it has been bought out or moved or something, and it was tough to find someone who could (or would) tackle the problem. I assumed I would need a full replacement. Then I found the installation letter saying Future Techs put it in back then, so I called them up. Turns out, our model is one of the hardest to service and normally they prefer not to if it's as old as mine, but they came out anyway to take a look. They still had one or two of the parts I needed in stock, and got it up and running again. The gentleman was very nice and helpful, and answered my variety of questions on upkeep and the model itself. His daughter was along to train on the job as well, and the two of them got it done despite the archaic model and awkward location.
Additionally, a couple days later I noticed a new leak on the back - apparently caused by a faulty O-ring in the new unit. I called Future Techs on Monday as soon as they were open, and the same tech was at my house the same morning. Got it completely disconnected, moved to the curb and drained, then fixed the problem and put the unit back in its spot. After this, they refused to charge anything for the time even when I offered it, saying they prefer to stand by their work. It's a family-run business of multiple generations, and reputation matters for that kind of thing.
I really have no complaints - it was as good an experience as plumbing problems can be. Problem is fixed, at a tenth the cost of the expected replacement. I found them to be trustworthy and will use them again in the future, as well as recommend them to anyone else who has water-softener issues in the area (Meridian, for me, but they cover more than that). It was worth my time to come online and write this review by way of thanks for the good service. Thanks, Future Techs!
